How to be considered:
If you would like to be considered for dance and/or drumming projects with Shahzaadee or to be considered as a team member for multiple styles and moods of dance with Colorful Waves Troupe, please send an email to:
Colorful Waves director Shahzaadee at shahzaadee@yahoo.com with 'Colorful Waves Team' as the subject line. Include your legal and dance name, your phone number, name of your most influential in-person instructor, indicate if you are a member of another group, express your level of commitment (flashmobs, one time projects, full member) and a link to your video performance sample.

Who should make contact? 
  • Intermediate to advanced dancers who have at least a year of consecutive instruction with a in-person bellydance instructor, under their belts. (pun fully intended). Some training will be provided but you must already have all basic skills for bellydance. 
  • Dancers interested in participation in flashmobs, one time performance projects and/or committed full time team members of Colorful Waves should express their level interest. 
  • Themed flashmobs and one-time project participation will vary in time commitment, depending on the project. 
  • Colorful Waves troupe members will be expected to commit to a year membership. Membership is renewable if both parties are content at the end of the years participation. 
  • Please note- You will not be allowed to perform or teach any of the show content outside of the troupe. 
  • Dancers who are not a part of another performance team will be given first priority, however, dancers affiliated with other groups will be expected to give time priority to Colorful Waves projects. 
  • Respectfully, if dancer is a part of another group, your other team leader/troupe leader should be made aware, and approve that you may participate in more that one group, with the full understanding that if there are conflicting shows, you will be required to perform with Colorful Waves. 

Where will we dance? 
  • Must be willing and able to travel to Durham (and surrounding areas) for in-person practices and performances. (some study will be via video). 
  • Future performances will be local and possibly regional.
